Literally every second of my day has gotten better and better since I watched the United States television debut of Japanese, all-girl metal band BABYMETAL on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Performing their new track "Gimme Chocolate!!" off of their sophomore album, Metal Resistance, band members Moametal, Su-metal, and Yuimetal (seriously, so cool) showed US TV audiences the amazingness of mixing heavy metal with J-Pop, and probably garnered a ton of more attention and fans! Watch this video from the CBS late night TV show below.

Metal Resistance dropped on April 1, 2016, through RAL/Sony Music Entertainment, so you can listen to more from BABYMETAL right now! So do it!

Before introducing the band, Colbert bluntly tells his audience: "I'm not sure what I'm about to see," which is what we assume you're saying to yourself right now. What the host and the audience did see was an incredible mix of two polarizing music genres, coming together in a song that sounds catchy and very devilish.

The stage show is definitely a great part of the performance as well. As you can see, the three members are front-and-center, taking part in some simplistic choreography while their band shreds on their instruments. It's definitely one of the more unique sights you'd see, even in an industry full of performance artists.

While BABYMETAL mixes two music genres, we also see some Anime and Manga influences in their looks. Honestly, they could easily be the subjects of some kind of Anime and/or Manga, and it would be very popular!
