Kesha's case against her accused rapist and producer Dr. Luke continues, stifling her ability to release new music, but she has found an out in the form of Zedd. Teased earlier this week, the "Timber" singer and Zedd have released an official cover of his song "True Colors" that was sanctioned by all of the necessary labels at Sony, Kemosabe, RCA and Interscope.
The cover keeps almost all of the original elements the same. The instrumental from Zedd remains the same with its grandiose qualities that match the empowering message found in the lyrics. Kesha keeps with the lyrics that were written for title track from Zedd's album, but makes things more personal as she switches all of the "we"s to "I"s.
As a result the bridge changes from "Something tells me I know nothing at all / We've escaped our capture / Yet we have our masters / And somehow it's like I've waited" to something more empowering to her own situation.
