The Voice Season 10 recently ended with Alisan Porter from Christina Aguilera's team being crowned as the winner. Porter's victory makes history since it is the first time that the winner came from a female coach's team.

To recall, Porter's audition turned the chairs of Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Aguilera during the blind audition rounds. She sang her own version of Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou" that received a standing ovation from the judges.

During her first appearance on The Voice, Porter shared her past struggles with alcohol. She also revealed that she was a former child star in Curly Sue, a movie by John Hughes, as previously reported by Music Times.

During the finale, she belted out "Unlove You" with country star Jennifer Nettles. Porter triumphed over Adam Wakefield, who was named as a runner up. Landing in third and fourth place were Hannah Huston and Laith Al-Saadi, respectively.

"I have retired Curly Sue, she is dead! I am now the girl who won The Voice," Porter said, according to People. "I would like you all to know. I've waited 30 something years for that! She's dead!"

Aguilera was also very happy about her win saying that the night was "a true victory for women." Before the blind auditions, Aguilera said that her goal was to break the curse, making sure that the next winner would come from a female judge and she was indeed right.

Porter also said that she is happy that her dream finally came true adding that when she tried acting, she was not really happy because she always wanted to be a singer.

Aside from performances by the contestants, the show also featured star-studded performances from former Voice coach CeeLo Green, Little Big Town, Sia, Jennifer Nettles, Joe Walsh, Ariana Grande, Zayn Malik and Alison Krauss.

After the being named the winner, Porter sang her original song, "Down That Road," while being surrounded by her family, CNN reported.
