The Chainsmokers 'Collage EP:' New Single "Setting Fires" With XYLO Highlights Project

The Chainsmokers still have the No. 1 song in the country for the 11th straight week with their single alongside Halsey "Closer", but that is not stopping them from releasing new music. The duo has released their Collage EP, which includes one brand new song "Setting Fires" featuring XYLO.

The new song fits the sound of the rest of the five-track EP with a leaning towards a more modern sound of dance-pop, blending electronic melodies and hip-hop beats.

"Setting Fires," is the highlight of the new offering as the only new song.

The LA-based brother-sister duo, XYLO assist on a great opening to the tune. They sing about the need to leave someone who can't help him or her, though it is always easier said than done.

"I can't keep you from harm / But I'm set on fire to keep you warm / I can't go on and on / Setting fires to keep you warm," the duo sing in the chorus.

The Chainsmokers follow that up with a pitched up, whistling synth melody and alternating drum patterns.

The Chainsmokers have been teasing this song for almost a year now, so their diehard fans will be ecstatic to see that it is finally out.

This probably won't be as big as "Closer" - that seems like a feat they likely won't ever top, but it could be their next big radio single. Pick up the song here.

In addition to "Setting Fires," the Collage EP includes four other recent songs from The Chainsmokers. Also on the EP are "Don't Let Me Down," "Inside Out," "Closer" and the recent single with Phoebe Ryan "All We Know" that appears to have been the victim of poor timing with its release.
