Travis Scott Unveils Short Film 'Birds in the Trap'
Travis Scott finally debuted his visual for Birds in the Trap on Vevo. Three months prior, it was released only through Apple Music.
The visual is directed by Fleur Fortune. The film features appearances by La Flame, Christiane Staten, Daniel Burke. The 14-minute clip tells the story of mortality where robots and women explore empty buildings.
According to RapUp, "The cinematic piece features a deadly car accident that sends Scott to the hospital. When he wakes up, the Houston MC finds out that the other driver died in the collision, a harsh reality that sparks a surreal and somber nightmare setting filled with symbolic imagery."
Scott originally debuted the film three months back when he reached a billion streams on his album BITTSM. He captioned the instagram post that day, "With close to a billion album streams and a top ten most streaming album of all-time with Apple, we feedin' the streets again TONIGHT!"
It is evident that Scott has put a lot of work into every detail of this album. When it came down to the artwork and wardrobe, the designer Nick Knight, explained his connection with Scott. He said, "I think he [Travis] also wanted clothes that would move in a particular way during shooting. He really was leaping and jumping and throwing himself around in the studio and that meant that in the imagery the garments would form particular shapes. I particularly noticed that in one of the images the silhouette of a collar stuck up around his neck in a manner that became almost demonic. He chose clothes that could move, clothes that create their own shapes depending on his movement. This shows a good understanding of the process of making imagery, which I think he has."
Scott is currently on his "Birds Eye View Tour," and will join Kendrick Lamar on tour for "DAMN. Tour" starting in July.
