Damian Marley Confirms Working On New Music With Jay Z
The idea of a new Jay Z album was put to rest after the 4:44 banners turned out to be in support of a new film. However, after Jay Z linked up with Damian Marley to work on some music, there might be hope after all.
HypeBeast reported that Vic Mensa heard Jay Z working on some new music. They reported, "Following the release of Mensa's debut studio album, Manuscript, the rapper met with Bootleg Kev and DJ Damage in Los Angeles. When pressed on whether new JAY Z music was on the way, Mensa threw fans a bone, revealing he "might have heard some, a little bit."
Marley told Billboard that he was in the studio with Hov. He said, "We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place. He's been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston."
He also admitted to working on other stuff with the Magna Carta Holy Grail artist. Marley said, "Well, I did some work with him for some stuff that he's working on. I'm not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I've been a fan of his music since he came out. We've never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically."
Vic Mensa and Damian Marley are not the only ones who have confirmed working with Jay Z. Swizz Beatz previously uploaded a photo to Instagram of him and the "On To The Next One" rapper where he captioned, "Album ModeZone."
Looks like Hov fans prayers might be coming true after all.
