New couple alert for “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14? Last season’s explosive finale certainly hinted of a potential romance. Fans of the long running series have wondered since if Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) friendship will turn into somehing more.
It was actually Jackson’s ex-wife April (Sarah Drew) who pointed out that the two have feelings for one another. Jackson and Maggie developed closeness last season when he treated her cancer stricken mother. Maggie was having a hard time dealing with the fact that her mother was dying.
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 will pick up from last season’s finale following the hospital explosion. April discovered that Jackson was searching for Maggie in the hospital fire which convinced her that he has feelings for Maggie. April later told Maggie about it but the latter’s reaction was not shown in the finale.
When the series returns, April’s words will still be in Maggie’s mind. McCreary told EW that her character will be grappling with April’s revelation since it has never crossed her mind before. The actress added that Maggie will basically try to find out whether April was on to something that she was not even aware of.
“Whether there’s any truth to that, and if there is, what to do with it, and if there’s not, how to manage if there’s truth for Jackson in that,” McCreary said. Whether Maggie will take a shot with Jackson still remains to be seen according to the actress.
McCreary sees so much potential in Jackson and Maggie’s relationship should “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 go that route reports Spoilers Guide. After all, they haven’t actually spent a lot of meaningful time together. She added that Maggie also has new relationships with other characters like Amelia and Meredith that are absolutely worth exploring.
If Jackson and Maggie’s relationship turns romantic, it will dash all hopes for him and April making their family complete again. “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 will have a two-hour premiere on September 28 on ABC.
