Madonna Celebrates 59th Birthday On New Portugal Home; Creative Juices Flowing Wild
Just a few days after her 59th birthday in Italy, singer Madonna now calls Portugal her new home. Purchasing a house in Lisbon, the "Queen of Pop" is getting a lot of inspiration from the Mediterranean country, fueling her creative engines.
Located in the resort of Sintra, which is 17 miles north-east of Lisbon, Madonna bought the 19th-century residence worth €7.5 million. However, Madonna is reportedly staying in a hotel in Lisbon at the moment, as the renovations for her new home would take around six months to complete.
Madonna has been sharing images of her new home and neighborhood via social media platform Instagram. According to E News!, the singer is feeling very creative with the energy Portugal is giving her. She also adds that the move will be the next chapter in her life, looking forward to completing the film she is working on, as well as some new music from the artist who gave the world "Vogue" and "Like A Prayer".
Part of the move to Lisbon is her 11-year old son David Banda's inclusion in the country's professional football club. As reported by The Guardian, David Banda, whom Madonna adopted in 2006, will take part in Benfica football team's youth academy after passing the first test for the ball club.
Portugal seems to be welcoming the newest addition to their family positively, as a local magazine reported that Madonna is no longer a tourist in the country. Madonna is the newest celebrity to have a property in Portugal, which includes Monica Bellucci and Michael Fassbender, who played as Magneto in the recent "X-Men" movies.
In early 2017, Madonna added four-year-old twins Esther and Stella to her growing family. Adopting the twins from Malawi, where her other son David Banda came from, the "Material Girl" signer now has a total of six children.
