New photos and promo trailer for “The Blacklist” Season 5 have been released before the season premiere on September 27. It is apparent from both that Tom (Ryan Eggold) and his wife, Liz (Megan Boone), will have a loving reunion.
EP Jon Bokenkamp teased, however, that Tom’s coming home will be not like any other. In last season’s finale, Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) died after singlehandedly destroying Raymond Reddington’s (James Spader) empire. Before that, he ordered Tom to secure a suitcase and deliver it to Liz the moment they see each other again in “The Blacklist” Season 5 reports Cartermatt.
It looks like Tom will not be following Mr. Kaplan’s instructions, at least for the time being according to Entertainment Weekly. Also, he doesn’t have a clue of the chaos that will be unleashed with the opening of the suitcase. Bokenkamp said that Tom, however, is “definitely conscious of the fact that answers tend to come with consequences.”
In one of the photos for “The Blacklist” Season 5, Tom is seen opening the said suitcase. Viewers already learned earlier that it contains skeletal pieces of an unidentified person. Tom’s curiosity seemed to have been picked as to why Mr. Kaplan badly wanted to give the suitcase to Liz.
“The Blacklist” Season 5 spoilers tease that Tom will eventually discover its connection to Red. He will wonder why it is so important for Liz to have the suitcase. Tom has always prioritized Liz’ safety and if he feels that it will only cause problems for her, spoilers say he will not hesitate to destroy it.
Another “The Blacklist” Season 5 spoiler is that the relationship of Aram (Amir Arison) and Samar (Mozhan Marno) will get better when he finally comes clean with his feelings towards her. Last season, he realized that it was his girlfriend Janet (Annie Heise) who was betraying him. Aram apologized for doubting Samar’s loyalty and then kissed her. It is even speculated that they will even get engaged soon.
