Katy Perry's "Left Shark" just opened up about his performance at the 2015 Super Bowl. Bryan Gaw said that he did not forget his steps at that time.
In a recent interview, Gaw said that there was a part in the choreography for "Teenage Dream" that was supposed to be freestyle. The dancer practiced his steps for their performance, and some people already noted that he appeared to be goofy.
"I'm in a 7-foot blue shark costume. There's no cool in that. So what's the other option? Well, I'm gonna play a different character," said Gaw.

The former backup dancer worked with Perry for five years before leaving the singer's tour group last year. Gaw, who is now working as a hairstylist in Los Angeles, said that he has never received negative feedback about his performance.
In fact, he gained a lot of fans following his dance number. Perry even shared an adorable drawing of Left Shark on her Twitter account after their February performance.
In 2016, Hamish Hamilton, the director of the Super Bowl halftime show, admitted that he did not expect Left Shark to become a cultural phenomenon.
Rob Paine, the producer of the Super Bowl halftime show, recalled how people mocked "Left Shark" for not being able to follow the choreography. Paine defended "Left Shark" and said that he actually danced well on stage.
Bryan Gaw Grateful For Super Bowl Experience
Gaw initially declined to comment about his performance years ago, but he recently said that he did so to not take away the moment from Perry. Gaw is a huge fan of the "Roar" singer, and one of the highlights of his career was performing with her at the Super Bowl.
"That gig is so huge. And not many dancers get that opportunity because not every act utilizes dancers... I'd always dreamed and watched big Super Bowl shows with Michael Jackson and such and towards the end of my career I thought that show may pass me over," said Gaw.
Gaw is now working as a stylist assistant at a small salon in L.A. As a young boy, he was always interested in fixing his hair, as well as his sister's hair. After his final world tour with Perry, he decided to pursue a new career, and he has not regretted his decision since then.
