Spotify Studios in New York City recently hosted Annie Clarke a.k.a. St. Vincent for a recording of a stripped down version of "Consideration."

Originally a pop track performed by Rihanna and SZA, the song was released in 2016 from the album Anti

Covers

St. Vincent's cover of "Consideration" was part of the series called Spotify Singles. Over the past few months, the music streaming platform has asked various artists to cover songs.

Throughout its run, Spotify Singles saw Harry Styles cover Little Big Town's "Girl Crush," Lany sing Styles' "Sign of the Times," and Ed Sheeran perform Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time." Other artists who have performed their singles, as well as cover another song, for the web-based application are The National, Rostam, Sam Smith, Charlie Puth, John Legend, Niall Horan, Demi Lovato, and Liam Gallagher.

For her session, St. Vincent performed a stripped-down version of her song "Los Ageless" from her new album, Masseduction

St. Vincent has been doing a lot of covers lately. Over the past few months, she has covered songs from Sleater-Kinney, Patsy Cline, and Cyndi Lauper.

She also recently performed songs from the new album for NPR's Tiny Desk, a web series of live, intimate concerts. Armed with an acoustic guitar, the singer-songwriter sang "New York," "Slow Disco," and, again, "Los Ageless." She previously made appearances on BBC Radio 1 and The Daily Show

New Music

Merely four months after the release of Masseduction, St. Vincent has already started thinking about her next record. In an interview with The Guardian back in December, she shared that one lesson she has learned is to keep moving forward.

"I'm always thinking of the next thing. That's something I learned from David Byrne: never ever look back," she explained. "It's always about the future. The joy for me comes when I'm making the thing, or thinking of new things to create. That's what I like doing best. That's my happiest place."

Byrne, of course, is a singer-songwriter who was a member of the band the Talking Heads. He worked with St. Vincent in 2012 for the collaborative album Love This Giant

The 35-year-old is currently on the road to perform in major cities around North America as part of her "Fear The Future" tour which will extend until next month. Her next concert will be held at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, North Carolina on Feb. 15.

St. Vincent will also perform at the End of the Road Festival and Coachella this coming summer.
