The dawn of a new Foo Fighters era and album is so very near, and now the prolific rock band is teasing new music live. During a recent London show, where Dave Grohl and co. were billed as The Holy S**ts, Foo Fighters teased a new, rock anthem from its forthcoming record Sonic Highways "Outside" during the musical interlude of "The Pretender."

In a pair of fan shot videos posted by Consequence of Sound, Foo Fighters can be heard smoothly transitioning between tracks, building "Outside" into the instrumental break in "The Pretender."

Unlike the Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace track, "Outside" seems to pull heavily from classic rock influences, taking Foo Fighters back to an era of 1970s guitar rock.

The driving riffs seem to recall the Eagles in just the most subtle way, which would really be no surprise, considering that Foo Fighters collaborated with Joe Walsh on one track from Sonic Highways - would be no real surprise if this were the result.

Watch Foo Fighters mash up "The Pretender" with "Outside" below. The new song begins at 2:02.

"Outside" is one of eight new songs from Foo Fighter's forthcoming album Sonic Highways and the second previewed track. Previously, the Foos teased the opening track "Something From Nothing" in the premiere trailer for its upcoming HBO documentary Sonic Highways.

Sonic Highways the show will debut on Oct. 17 on HBO. Sonic Highways the album will be released on Nov. 10.
