Looks like New York country fans have reason to rejoice, because Rolling Stone reports that The Grand Ole Opry is returning to the Big Apple this coming Sept. 29 for a series of free acoustic performances.

Taking place in the New York City's Bryant Park area – located between Fifth and Six Avenues and 40th and 42nd Streets – the Nashville's New Music in New York series, as it is titled, will honor both Country Music Month and the radio show's upcoming birthday. And while the official birthday celebration for the Grand Ole Opry is this coming Oct. 10 and 11 in its hometown of Nashville, the New York series will prove to be quite a festivity.

Appearing on the Bryant Park stage will be the likes of the Swon Brothers, from Team Blake on NBC's The Voice, on Monday (Sept. 29); Dustin Lynch on Wednesday (Oct 1); and Sugarland's own Kristian Bush, who recently sparked a career as a solo artist, on Thursday, Oct. 2.

The full schedule of performers participating in Nashville's New Music in New York is on the Grand Ole Opry site. To view that, click here.

On the series, Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher notes, "All of these artists have been with us at the Opry recently to showcase their new music, so we know our friends in New York are in for some great performances."

He added, "It'll be great to extend our birthday party and Country Music Month beyond Music City to New York City."
