There have been rumblings for awhile now that things aren't great in the marriage of Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. The couple quietly swapped vows only 14 months ago and already sources close to them say that the fighting has reached epic proportions.
One major bone of contention seems to be Lavigne's 5th studio album, which was produced by her husband. The self-titled effort under-performed and apparently the 29-year old singer has placed the blame on Kroeger.
Working and living together can easily take a toll on a couple and it seems this joint effort has left the singer cold, causing major tension in her marriage. Another issue is the idea of starting a family. Lavigne is inching towards 30 and ready to be a mom while her husband, at 39, is getting ready to hit the road again with his band.
Trust is apparently another thing shaking up their marriage. The Nickelback singer was dating someone else when he and Lavigne first hooked up and because of that she is reportedly having a hard time trusting him now.
Back in July, when the couple celebrated their first anniversary the singer was showing off a sparkly new ring and seemed pretty happy.
It's kind of sad to think that things could possibly go downhill so quickly for them, isn't it? Some reports claim that Chad Kroeger has been telling pals in L.A. that the marriage is over already.
