Chris Brown recently talked about his current relationship with famous ex-girlfriend Rihanna. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown revealed that the two music makers are just friends.

"We're friends," he said. "Nothing too serious. We're not trying to start a life together right now, we're just having fun."

Considering his own past with domestic violence, Brown took the opportunity to lend some advice to ex-NFL player Ray Rice and anyone else in similar predicaments.

"My situation was a big - and it still is - a big thing in the world. So I think when it comes to Ray Rice or whoever else is dealing with the same situation, understand what the problem is within yourself and learn from it and making sure that it's absolutely never going to happen again and that it's not okay."

Brown also talked his latest release, X, which he described as defining "the ten years of me being an artist." He said his goal is not to appease every naysayer.

"I mean, life is life, man," he said. "If I have to go out every day and try to please every critic, everybody that said 'Oh my God, I thought he was this, I thought he was that,' it's a choice. To buy my album is a choice."

Brown's latest release debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album marks his sixth consecutive top 10 album on the chart.

His last album, 2012's Fortune, debuted at No. 1, selling 135,000 copies in its first week. The album featured the party anthem "Strip" as well as "Turn Up The Music" and "Don't Judge Me."
