Maroon 5 may be hunting you down like "Animals" on its new single, but the band isn't doing it alone anymore. Today (Sept. 29), a new remix of the latest V single dropped, featuring a hard-hitting new rap verse from J. Cole.

The vast majority of "Animals" remains the same throughout the remix, with a heavy beat thumping and Adam Levine soulfully crooning about ravishing his pretty young thing like an animal. But, after the second chorus there's a little Cole bonus, with boastful rhymes all about the sexual power of an old relationship.

"This is pain, this is love, this is sent from above / This is a gift from the gods, this was meant to be / You can run, you can hide / You can front, you can lie / But in time, you gon find you was meant for me," he raps, almost like a threat. But, it's all about his female's "potion" and just one hit is not enough for J. Cole.

Let's just hope his girl is OK with all of this...

"Animals" is the latest single from Maroon 5's new album V, which dropped last month. The J. Cole remix isn't the first time the pop-rock band teamed up with a hip-hop artist for a V remix. Maroon 5's lead single "Maps" also got some assistance from Big Sean.

Maroon 5 can be seen supporting "Animals" and V this weekend on Saturday Night Live.
