Saturday Night Live is getting its first dose of up-and-coming music this weekend (Oct. 11) with musical guest Hozier, and in new promos for the late-night variety show featuring the "Take Me To Church" singer feature host Bill Hader and cast member Cecily Strong getting a little too close for comfort.

SNL has released three new promos for the upcoming third episode of its 40th season, adding Hozier into the mix. During the first promo, the Irish singer-songwriter largely remains silent while Hader and Strong riff off about whether or not former cast member Hader is nervous about hosting. He says no, but that intensely shaking hand (and teacup) indicate otherwise.

The second promo shows of a teeny more of Hozier's acting chops, as he shrugs off a question on who exactly Strong is... neither he nor Hader really seem to know...

After remaining largely silent for two clips, Hozier finally gets to show off a little bit, or at least he gets to speak. "Okay, let's get cozier with Hozier," Strong suggests. He's then embraced by the two comedians, but does not quite seem to be feeling it...

Hozier will be appearing on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, Oct. 11, alongside host Bill Hader. Though he's yet to become a household name, Hozier's profile is well on the rise. His debut, self-titled album dropped last month and its lead single "Take Me To Church" has peaked at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Hozier is the third musical guest this season on SNL. He follows performances from pop music juggernauts Ariana Grande and Maroon 5.
