Twerking is a thing of the past, according to Miley Cyrus per Vibe, and she got her fans hip to her new favorite dance move the Nae Nae. The pop star even went as far as to teach the dance on the Sunrise Morning Show in Australia.

During a tour stop at the Sydney Opera House, Cyrus stopped by the morning show and intrigued the curious news crew when asked about new moves.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer didn't hesitate to make it clear that twerking is a trend that has fallen from its graces.

"Twerking seems so yesterday," one of the anchors declared, and she promptly agreed.

"I'm glad you know that, because some people are living in the past," Cyrus interjected. She then proceeded to give the anchors a step-by-step tutorial on how to do the Nae Nae correctly.

While Cyrus has been credited with bringing twerking to the mainstream, she didn't try to claim ownership of the Nae Nae, admitting that her dancers showed her the move.

"They just started doing it and I was like what is that?" she said. "And then I just started doing it, which is kind of what happened with the twerking thing. I try to do it at my shows, and no one's really doing it back at me."

So if you're planning on going to a Miley Cyrus show and she breaks out with the Nae Nae, be prepared to show off your moves as well. Check out a clip from the interview complete with Cyrus' tutorial after the jump.
