For a band that pumped out four straight No. 1 mainstream rock hits in the early 2000s, Puddle of Mudd appears to be on its last legs. Or rather, last leg, as Wes Scantlin and company just announced a late 2014 tour that will take them to some of the country's seediest haunts — at least compared to what they were playing 10 years ago. The group has also released "Piece of the Action," a new single, and tour dates.

"I'm very excited to be on the road touring again, to see my fans," Scantlin said in a statement via AudioInkRadio. "I'll rock your faces off."

The band also released a new single — "Piece of the Action" — which marks their first new work since 2011. The cut is available for download here. POM will make their way to most areas of the country, plus a couple detours into Canada and Mexico, to bring fans the classics: "Blurry," "Drift & Die," "She Hates Me" and "Away from Me," along with other favorites.

In fact, the band has sent 10 songs into the mainstream rock Top 10, and even had a No. 5 Billboard hit — "Blurry" — in 2002.
