George Strait announced the dates on his final tour, along with a boatload of country stars that will help him go out with a bang.

A press conference was held Monday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX (home of the Dallas Cowboys). Strait announced that a different star would open for him during every week of the tour, similar to the strategy the Rolling Stones employed on its most recent bout through the states. Among the openers: Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride. What opener will accompany what date will be announced at a later time.

The "Cowboy Rides Away" tour will kick off on January 9 in Bossier City, LA, and continue until its conclusion in (where else?) Dallas on a date yet to be determined. You can check out the full list of announced dates at the bottom of the page.

Although this will be the Cowboy's last ride, Strait is still signed to produce five more new albums for MCA Nashville, the label that he's produced every one of his 28 records with. Strait is currently the second best-selling country musician of all time, trailing only Garth Brooks.
