Days of Our Lives fans will be happy to hear that nearly three weeks after surviving a violent car crashFeddie Smith is clearly on the mend. He and longtime girlfriend Alyssa Tabit were involved in a violent one-car crash in Kingsville Township, Ohio, earlier this month that left her in critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery. After a few weeks of silence, Smith finally reached out via his Facebook page to show a bit of gratitude, saying:

"Feeling so lucky and blessed today to be lounging with Alyssa Tabit taking in the autumn day in Ohio. I can't thank you all enough for your on going support, thoughts, and prayers!!!! I really do have the best friends and family in the world!!!"

A day earlier, Tabit posted a photo of some of her hospital floral arrangements, obviously a sign that she, too, is on the mend.

At the time of the accident, Ohio Police suspected that alcohol and speed could have played a factor in the crash, with the official police report explaining, "A 2009 Mazda 6 was traveling westbound on State Route 84. The Mazda failed to safely negotiate a left curve and lost control. It crossed the center line, traveled the left side of the road and struck a culvert. This impact caused the car to overturn end over end. The vehicle came to final rest and the passenger was temporarily trapped inside."

It is great to hear that these two are finally doing well enough to even want to interact with fans again. No word yet on how long it will be before Smith is back on the scene in Salem as Sonny Kiriakis, so Days fans may need to wait a bit longer for the actor to return to work.
