At 88 years old Queen Elizabeth still is undaunted in her royal position. Even after being alerted by British officials that they had uncovered an assassination plot against her, it was still business as usual. Multiple raids were conducted across West London and Buckinghamshire in a successful attempt to round up extremists that intended to kill the Queen at a celebration on Friday.

According to a report by the New York Post, four Islamic extremists, ranging in age from 19–27, intended to stab Queen Elizabeth on Friday while the country celebrated 96 years since the end of World War I. It is an annual British jubilee and an event that Elizabeth is expected to participate in without fail. The terrorists were plotting to stab the queen but British police police believe that they also had access to an arsenal of firearms as well.

Queen Elizabeth didn't allow the threat against her life to disrupt her weekend of scheduled activities and she is expected at a military bash that celebrates the end of World War I later today. We have heard numerous reports in the last year about the queen's failing health and how she has systematically begun handing over some of her duties to other members of the royal family, such as Prince Charles and Kate Middleton. There has also been speculation that Elizabeth will choose to willingly abdicate the throne next summer, placing the power into capable hands rather than waiting for her health to further decline, leaving the country that she loves without a solid ruler even briefly.

The British police have been successful at foiling a few serious attacks in recent years, do you think that in some ways they seem more capable of protecting their royalty than the Secret Service is capable of protecting the White House? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
