Queen Latifah has been announced as the host for the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which will be held Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. The concert honors Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai, who were chosen by the Norweigian Nobel Committee for "their struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education," Billboard reports.

"I'm thrilled to be a part of this year's concert and to help celebrate such amazing individuals who have each worked so hard on behalf of children's rights to education," says Queen Latifah, the Grammy and Oscar-winner who currently hosts The Queen Latifah Show.

This is the 21st year for the annual concert, which honors each year's Nobel laureates and is broadcast in up to 100 countries. Artists confirmed so far include Norwegian singer Gabrielle, UK singer Laura Mvula, and Pakistani musician Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Earlier this year, Latifah performed "America the Beautiful" at the Super Bowl and presided over the marriages of 33 couples during Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert's Grammy performance of marriage equality-championing "Same Love."

Her last album was 2009's Persona, and she is known for hits such as "U.N.I.T.Y" and "Just Another Day..."

Last year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert featured Mary J. Blige and James Blunt. Past hosts include Paul McCartney, Rihanna, Sting, Carlos Santana, Alicia Keys, Willie Nelson, Bon Jovi, among others.
