To coincide with her upcoming MoMA career retrospective, Björk will be releasing a book titled Björk: Archives, which will take a look back at the Icelandic singer's career and offer exclusive essays, poetry and artwork.

According to i-D, the book will cover Björk's "seven major albums" — which presumably does not include her 1977 self-titled debut or her film soundtracks — and will explore "the personas surrounding each through poetry, academic analysis, philosophical texts, and stunning visuals."

Among the contributors to Björk: Archives are film directors Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham, as well as Icelandic poet Sjón and musicology professor Nicola Dibben. The book will also include portraits of Björk by Nan Goldin, Juergen Teller, Arakia and Inez & Vinoodh and will feature photos from some of the singer's famous costumes, designed by Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan and Sophia Kokosalaki. Four booklets will be released with the book as well as a poster featuring the artwork of all seven albums being covered.

Björk: Archives is set for release March 30 through Thames and Hudson, while the Museum of Modern Art's Björk exhibit will run from March 8 until June 7. Along with her distinctive music and video work from throughout her career, the exhibit will also feature a "newly commissioned, immersive music and film experience," according to Rolling Stone.

"Björk is an extraordinarily innovative artist whose contributions to contemporary music, video, film, fashion, and art have had a major impact on her generation worldwide," said MoMA Chief Curator at Large Klaus Biesenbach in a statement, via Rolling Stone. "This highly experimental exhibition offers visitors a direct experience of her hugely collaborative body of work."

Björk's most recent studio album Biophilia was released in 2011 and spawned four singles: "Crystalline," "Cosmogony," "Virus" and "Moon." It was her eighth studio album overall, her first since 2007's Volta.
