Last night, Neutral Milk Hotel and Jeff Mangum reunited for their first U.S. show in 15 years at St. John's Church in Baltimore for a crowd of 500 fans. According to Consequence of Sound (via Jasper Colt), the band played an 18-song set, which spanned material from Everything Is (1994) to On Avery Island (1996) to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (1998).

According to reports on Twitter, the band prohibited photography during the set, though one fan was able to snap a shot of the stage and also claimed that a moshpit erupted a few times.

D.C. blogger Jasper Colt reviewed the show, saying, "The real highlight of the show, for my money, was the haunting sincerity of Mangum's voice that first drew me into his recordings. Time may have taken its toll on the walls of this old nave, but his sweet and familiar tone remains unscathed." Read the rest of his review here.

The band hits the road now for a massive worldwide tour beginning in Richmond, Va. and ending in Portugal.
