Bravo has been pretty smart in the way it has handled the newest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It purposely added two soap stars to the cast — Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson — but they spaced out their debuts, probably for maximum affect. Rinna was in on the action with the rest of the cast right from the season premiere, but it waited until the third episode for Davidson's debut.

While nothing too traumatic went down last night, Dec. 2, between Davidson and anyone else, we already know from the trailer that she and Rinna have at least one glass-throwing incident and they are not exactly the best of friends at all. They crossed paths years ago on Days of Our Lives and clearly never gelled. It is pretty obvious already that Bravo is expecting Davidson to cause some friction among the ladies, and that seems to be a role she is already comfortable playing.

Davidson potentially brings with her fans from two soaps: Days and The Young & the Restless. Bravo is hoping that she will cook up just enough trouble to keep them all tuning in because, ultimately, what RHOBH needs most of all is continued ratings success. As it stands now, the franchise looks like it is about to put The Real Housewives of New Jersey on hiatus while Teresa Giudice serves her jail time. Bravo cannot afford to shelve one show and have another suffering from low ratings.

Did you guys catch Davidson's debut last night? What were your thoughts? Do you think she is comfortable just being herself on camera, or is she still "acting" even though it is a reality show? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
