Congress is in for a rough september

Each and every week we put together our favorite tracks that had premiered a few days prior into one magnificent mixtape to share with you and your friends. This time around we've decided to share new songs from Lana Del Rey, Netherfriends, The Decemberists, Purity Ring and more right here!

Purity Ring this week premiered a brand new track entitled "Push Pull," reminding us all of just how incredible this electronica duo is. The first original composition from Megan James and Corin Roddick, show off the aspects of this band that we've missed since they released Shrines in 2012. Listen to "Push Pull" right here!

RIYL: Chvrches, Sia

Netherfriends this week, after a few months of social media promotion, has released the brand new single "Short Bangs," featuring Monster Mike. Songwriter Shawn Rosenblatt composes one of the most original love songs in this track, incorporating R&B and Hip-Hop influences throughout. Check out a great music video for this new song right here!

RIYL: Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, Arms

We heard some really great holiday music this week as well! Check out the Dum Dum Girls new song, "On Christmas," and also listen to The Killers's festive "Joel, the Lump of Coal!"

We recently got a taste a new song from The Decembersits in the form of Colin Meloy basking on the streets of Brooklyn, but this week we got a great, full-band lyric video for "Lake Song." Check it out right here:

RIYL: Death Cab For Cutie, New Pornographers

Do you want to hear new takes on some older tracks? Check out Strand of Oaks covering The Replacements' "Alex Chilton," Animal Collective remixing Shabazz Palaces' "#CAKE," and Daughter remixing Warpaint's "Feeling Alright."

This week, Lana Del Rey released two new tracks! That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask us. Check out "Big Eyes" and "I Can Fly" right here!

We close out this week's mixtape with one of the most simple-yet-tragic new songs from Flashlights, a promising young indie rock outfit that is slowly taking over the DIY scenes around the nation. Check out the music video for "Islands" right here!

RIYL: Weezer, Tigers Jaw

The holiday season is upon us, so share this week's mixtape with your friends that need some motivation for shopping! These songs will surely push them to become a great consumer and gift giver!
