Paul Simon's former accountant is suing the singer for unpaid services to the tune of $17,174, TMZ reports. That's a pretty low blow considering that the accountant, Kenneth Ira Starr, stole millions from clients like Simon, Al Pacino and Liam Neeson. A trustee reviewing Starr's case is trying to find money to pay creditors off, and he apparently found an unpaid bill from Simon's estate.

Starr was sentenced to more than seven years in prison in 2011 for the Ponzi scheme that amounted to $33 million. The accountant could have received a more severe sentence, but the judge ruling on the case liked the fact that Starr had some charity work under his belt, the New York Post notes. He went bankrupt soon after, which is why he's suing Simon.

Natalie Portman, Sylvester Stallone and Uma Thurman were all clients of Starr's.

In November, Simon revealed that he was signing off on an official biography.

"I thought seriously about writing my own memoir, but I'd rather devote my time to making music, which continues to hold my full attention," Simon wrote in a statement. "I'm confident Robert Hilburn will write an insightful book. I enjoyed and admired his biography of Johnny Cash and I think he'll tell my story well."

The singer's last album, So Beautiful or So What, came out in 2011 and hit number four on the Billboard 200. Rolling Stone gave it four stars.

"Ultimately, So Beautiful or So What is a spiritual meditation that can't answer the big questions: Does God exist in a world of pain and inequality? Is there an afterlife? All Simon seems to know for sure is that there is love, and there is beauty — and that, afterlife or no, great songs live forever," the magazine wrote.
