That rumored Destiny's Child biopic that was hinted at in the massive Sony hacking scandal? Well, if it were up to Beyoncé's papa and former manager Matthew Knowles, it would "absolutely" happen.
In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the estranged father of Beyoncé and Solange noted that interesting elements of Destiny Child's story, which would make for a solid movie, in his opinion.
"Destiny's Child, as you know, is the number one selling female group in the history of music. And their story, which starts at 9, 10 years old in Houston, is really a story that really engages you," he said. It talks about their challenges, their successes and their failures. It talks about the death of my partner Ann Tillman. And it also talks about, which I think is one of the great aspects of a Destiny's Child movie or a play, is the empowerment of the songs and the empowerment that Destiny's Child has given to women."

Though there are no current plans to develop a Destiny's Child movie, Knowles has been shopping around the biopic to Sony and Universal. Sony execs were reportedly "very enthusiastic" about the idea.
The proposed biopic wasn't the only news Knowles dished out to WSJ. He also noted that despite not releasing new in over a decade, Destiny's Child is still technically together.
"Most people don't know that I still officially manage Destiny's Child. And Destiny's Child people sometimes use the word 'broke up.' Destiny's Child has never broken up officially," Knowles said. "So don't be surprised if one day there's a new record and a tour because the group has never officially broke up."
The group's last album, Destiny Fulfilled, was released in 2004. It spawned singles such as "Lose My Breath," "Soldier" and "Cater 2 U."
