D'Angelo fans, the Black Messiah is coming out of hiding and is preparing to go back on the road again. Before he heads out on tour in Europe next month, he has announced a headlining show at the historic New York City venue, the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Feb. 7. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. EST.

D'Angelo will be joined by his band, The Vanguard who were key on his first LP in 15 years. Surprisingly, this will be the first D'Angelo has ever headlined the Apollo Theater, via the New York Times.

D'Angelo shocked the world when he made a surprise comeback by releasing his album Black Messiah at the end of 2014 in response to police shootings of unarmed black men around the country. Black Messiah became the music community's magnum opus for protesting the wrongs of society, notably in the minority communities.

The Apollo Theater show will be the first public appearance for the reclusive soul singer since the release of the album. It has done incredibly well and sold over 100,000 copies in the first week, despite very little press surrounding the LP.

Check out the dates for his European "Second Coming Tour" and make sure you are ready to purchase tickets for the Apollo Theater show.
