Norwegian tropical house standard bearer Kygo — real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll — recently went on Norwegian-Swedish talk show Skavlan to sit down for an interview and play an acoustic rendition his new single "Firestone" featuring the vocals of Australian singer Conrad. Kygo goes full acoustic for the program, led by Norwegian journalist Fredrik Skavlan, fingering the melody on a grand piano as Conrad shines as the leading artist on this acoustic cover, while a percussionist makes his presence felt with soft taps and crashes on a set of cymbals with mallets. Kygo then sits down to have a chat with Skavlan in Norwegian about his career and recent success.

Kygo continues a trend of other electronic acts that are now getting airtime on TV and looking to innovate their live shows beyond one man standing behind turntables. That may work in a club or festival, but for a TV audience who does not totally understand what DJ-ing is about and thinks a DJ is an overpaid human iPod shuffle.

Fresh off a booking agency change in the United States, from AM Only to WME, Kygo heads into 2015 as one of the hottest new acts in electronic music, according to Variety. One of our acts to watch in 2015, he has already started to see some festival bookings roll in after his milestone main stage set at TomorrowWorld filling in for a sick Avicii. He is set to perform at Ultra Music Festival at the end of March, Coachella in April and then later in the month at CounterPoint Festival in Georgia.

"Firestone" is the first single from Kygo's upcoming artist album slated for release at some point in 2015 on Sony Music.
