It's been over two years since the release of Kesha's last album Warrior and though it's been a rough ride ever since, the "Timber" singer is finally teasing some new music for her "Animals" on Instagram. Over the weekend, Kesha promised that she will release music "as soon as I f**king can" and posted a little a cappella video of herself singing some personal lyrics.

The short video features Kesha holding the phone outward, so you can't see her face. What can be seen (besides the corner of her thumb) is what appears to be a recording studio. A guitar case features prominently in the left corner.

The music Kesha is singing in the video features some deeply personal lyrics, hinting at her tumultuous 2014, which included a stint in rehab for an eating disorder and the beginnings of a lawsuit against her longtime producer and mentor Dr. Luke.

But, she's fighting it all by finally singing a ballad.

"Stay young / Wild one / I know your heart has been through it all / Stay young," Kesha sings tenderly. Without the help of auto-tune, it's clear that she has a lot of pain, range and talent in her voice, which aids the lyricism with real feeling.

I will release new music as soon as I possibly can animals. as soon as I fucking can.

It may be a while until new music from Kesha actually sees the light of day, though. The pop star is in the middle of a grueling lawsuit against Dr. Luke. She's suing the producer for sexual and drug abuse over the years, hoping to be released from her contract with Dr. Luke. The suit is pending.
