The end of 2013 is coming ever nearer, and that means it’s time to wrap up the year in music. A new musical tradition for the 2010s is DJ Earworm’s annual United State of Pop mashup. Today (Dec. 3), the 2013 version of the remix was released on the DJ’s YouTube account, allowing pop music fans to remember music from not so long ago.

This year’s edition, of course, heavily features some of the year’s biggest hits. Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” Avicci’s “Wake Me Up” and Lorde’s “Royals” are among the 25 songs in the remix and some of those most heavily featured. Mashed together into one five-minute track, the entire blend feels remarkably hopeful, albeit it slightly dragging in its mid-tempo.
