Last night the Grammys took over Staples Center in Los Angeles and not only were there 23 performances of all shapes, kinds and sizes and awards given out to mostly Sam Smith, Pharrell and Beck (sorry Kanye), but there was also the media circus that followed the whole thing. Artists and celebrities had their pictures taken and various outlets grabbed musicians as they tried to navigate their way into the venue for interviews. Some focused on serious questions like actual music, while others at Buzzfeed asked artists what was their favorite song to have sex to. The subject was broached with Katy Perry and she was not shy about sharing her answer.
She first responded that overall its Marvin Gaye but she also loves some Jeff Buckley. However the current favorite is "Often" by The Weeknd. She does not leave us without an explanation, continuing, "It's just sexy. He is probably the most sexual deliverer of beautiful lyrics right now and I appreciate that." She interjects as she walks away jokingly "Or the 'Macarena'!"
Take notes people, if Katy Perry is getting down in the bed room to The Weeknd, then you may want to add "Often" to your late night playlist as well.
Perry was at the Grammys with hopes of winning two Grammys. Her album Prism was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, however she lost out to Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour. "Dark Horse" was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance but lost out to the smallest name in the category, A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera "Say Something." She did take the stage to deliver an emotional performance of "By The Grace Of God" as a way of taking a stand against domestic violence, backed up by President Obama.
