It has been a while since we have even mentioned Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge is now seven months pregnant with baby No. 2 and her public appearances are becoming fewer and farther apart. We do know that she crammed in some work a few weeks ago before leaving to spend two weeks in Mustique on the Middleton family's annual trip. It was intended to be a bit of a "baby-moon" for Middleton and Prince William, and they were also expected to celebrate her mother Carole Middleton's 60th birthday. Unfortunately, when it came time to party, the couple skipped it amid rumors of a rift.

According to a source in a report by The Daily Mail, "It was a major bash marking a big birthday -- so it's no wonder eyebrows were raised when Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge missed the party that celebrated her mother's 60th on Mustique this month. Although William and Kate were staying at the £14,000-a-week [$21,511.77] four-bedroom Villa Rocina with her mum Carole, they decided against going to the biggest night of the family's holiday."

No wonder eyebrows were raised, as Middleton and her mother are generally close. Carole has been Prince George's preferred baby-sitter and she has helped her daughter through some of her rougher bouts with morning sickness.

Do you think that maybe a mother/daughter spat was actually behind Middleton and William deciding not to attend her mother's party? It seems like if she was just having an off night with her pregnancy then William might have made an appearance, right? We have seen him replace her at a moment's notice during this pregnancy on a few occasions, so it seems that if he had made a brief appearance at Carole's party it would have prevented the chatter that is going on now.

Do you think that being far along in her pregnancy kept Middleton from enjoying her mother's special day, or are there problems going on behind the scenes that she did not want spilling out during the celebration? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
