Recordings from Jimi Hendrix's early career will be released next month, Rolling Stone reports. You Can't Use My Name: Curtis Knight & The Squires (Featuring Jimi Hendrix) The RSVP/PPX Sessions will feature 14 tracks from the guitar legend's days of trying to make it as a session musician. The collection also includes two songs that were written by Hendrix, "Hornet's Nest" and "Knock Yourself Out."

During his time with Knight & The Squires, Hendrix formed his own band that would go on to be discovered by other artists including Chas Chandler of The Animals. Chandler is credited as the one who took Hendrix to London in order to really kickstart his music career. The rest is rock 'n' roll history.

"We are extremely delighted to now be in a position to offer these rare, historic recordings," Janie Hendrix, Jimi's sister and Experience Hendrix CEO, wrote in a statement. "What makes them so special is that they provide an honest look at a great artist during the pivotal time when he was on the cusp of his breakthrough, a time when Jimi's number one priority was playing and recording, and this set captures him doing just that, both as a collaborator and an innovator. They are more than just recordings, they represent a significant segment in the timeline of Jimi's musical existence."

PPX Records tried to release some of Hendrix's recordings following his stint with Knight, but the iconic musician took them to court over it. The music was in a legal limbo of sorts until July. The Hendrix estate and Sony Legacy acquired the rights and are now releasing the early cuts, with more to follow in the near future.

The compilation is due out March 24.
