If you need a concert to go to with your weird uncle this year, this might be the one: Swiss heavy metal band Krokus has announced its first tour of the United States in nearly 25 years.

The band never reached quite the same levels of sales or respect as someone like Black Sabbath (much less in terms of respect) but has always maintained at least a cult appreciation among fans of '80s metal thanks to the excellent name "Krokus" (a play on the crocus, a popular German flower). The band hit its sales peak in the United States during 1983-'84 when its albums Headhunter and The Blitz placed nos. 25 and 31 on the Billboard 200, respectively.

For the 17 years following the release of Heart Attack, the only consistent member of the band was guitarist Fernando von Arb, although even he left the band during 2005 due to wrist problems. Not too long after, the "classic lineup" of the band reunited during 2007, released Hoodoo in 2010 and then Dirty Dynamite during 2013.

Somehow, despite releasing a number of albums under multiple iterations of the band, Krokus never got around to coming back to the United States. Now they have: The band will take part in the Monsters of Rock Cruise, leaving from Miami from April 18-22, along with other classic acts including Tesla, Queensryche and Extreme.
