Taylor Swift is going to be a godmother! And who better for the role than "the Betty Crocker of friendships," as Lena Dunham fondly refers to her. Late Sunday night, Swift posted a photo to Instagram (see above) announcing that Hart of Dixie star Jaime King, 35, had named her the godmother to her unborn second child with filmmaker husband Kyle Newman.

"Guess who just got named Godmother of this little one ... (ME)," Swift captioned the photo, which shows her on her knees in front of King with her hands on King's pregnant belly.

King also posted a photo to her own Instagram of Swift looking over her shoulder at her belly with the caption, "And @taylorswift will forever be looking over our new baby @kylenewman - we all love you!"

King spoke about her friendship to Swift last year in an E! interview.

"Taylor is just one of my closest, closest friends-one of my dear, dear friends," she told them. "We just met and instantly had a connection. She is also another woman that I feel is one of the most authentic women we have in this industry that other women look up to."

It makes sense, then, that Swift was chosen for the job.

As People notes, Swift joins Jessica Alba and Topher Grace in the godparent department. The two actors are godparents to the couple's first child, James Knight, who is 16 months old.

King reportedly struggled with infertility during her first pregnancy, which included five miscarriages, five rounds of in virto fertilization and 26 rounds of intrauterine insemination, but as luck would have it, their son was ultimately conceived naturally.

"When I got pregnant it was the best thing in the whole world. I had never felt so grateful, happy and elated," King told People of her first pregnancy.

If Swift treats her godchildren anything like her fans, this baby will surely be spoiled with love, goodies, lullabies and sage advice. She's also been known to make babies stop crying, so that's a plus.
