The Red Bull Music Academy New York has announced its third lineup and things are looking as great as ever, as FKA Twigs, George Clinton and A$AP Rocky are among the biggest names featured (from Billboard).

Twigs will play two dates, appearing both May 17 and 18 at the Brooklyn Hangar for a live performance. Clinton and Rocky won't actually be performing, alas, but will be partaking in discussions well worth hearing considering the stature of the performer's giving them. Clinton will appear on May 12 at the Brooklyn Museum and Rocky will speak on May 7, although a venue hasn't been named yet.

The best opportunities at Red Bull Music Academy come in the form of less mainstream acts however. Among the highlights, chronologically:

A) Venus X will bring back her "GHE20G0THIK" underground nightclub back to New Yorkers after declaring it dead during 2014 (accusing Rihanna of ripping off her style without giving any credit). Sissy Nobby,Total Freedom, MikeQ, Ma N guzu and Divoli S'vere will also appear on May 2 at the Brooklyn Bazaar.

B) Output will be a noise-lover's heaven on May 13 as a number of acts show up for Raw Sound Transgression. Former Throbbing Gristle vocalist Genesis P-Orridge will join former Wolf Eyes member Aaron Dilloway (having seen the latter just last week, we highly recommend), Pharmakon is an intense live performer as well, and legendary noise artist Merzbow will attend as well. An incredible one-night line-up.

C) Tri Angle Records will celebrate its fifth anniversary at the exhibition space at 23 Wall Street, featuring The Haxan Cloak, Evian Christ, Holy Other, Vessel, Forest Swords, Bothhodyd, mssingo, Lotic, Rabit and Haz. We caught Haxan Cloak at his Red Bull performance last year and it was certain a creepy experience...in the best of ways.
