Way back in summer 2013, Katie Holmes was first spotted dancing with Jamie Foxx at a party on Long Island and the two denied that they were anything more than friends. They also shot down rumors of a romance that fall when she was spotted creeping out of his New York City hotel in the wee hours of the morning. After that, nothing more was said and any buzz that surrounded them seemed to disappear ... at least until now. This week, various media outlets are claiming that the two have actually been together since way back in 2013 and have managed to keep the romance on the DL.
According to a report by Us Weekly, "Jamie is someone she can trust and have fun with," a mutual pal told Us of Holmes, who shares 8-year-old daughter Suri with ex-hubby Tom Cruise, to whom she was married from 2006-12. "She's getting everything from Jamie that she didn't get with Tom."
Foxx, for his part, is equally taken with the Dawson's Creek alumna.
According to one insider, he even refers to her using the term of endearment "my girl" -- as in, "My girl is calling," explained the source.
Holmes has several good reasons for wanting to keep her dating life out of the press, and one is because of who she is apparently seeing. Foxx and her ex have been good friends for years, with the Mission: Impossible star giving him lots of advice early in Foxx's acting career. Cruise probably is not too thrilled to find out that Holmes and Foxx have been hooking up, and it may have raised some questions about when the romance actually started.
The two are supposedly still trying to minimize things and say that it is not serious, but again that is a wise thing to say in light of their mutual history with Cruise.
