Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have officially been granted a divorce. According to E!, the divorce was finalized in court yesterday. This news comes less than six months after the actress first filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason their marriage failed. Their divorce will be finalized on April 14. The couple initially separated in February 2014 after almost nine years of marriage. They share custody of their 4-year-old son Julian.

"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," she said in a statement to People Magazine, back when they first announced their split.

Patton recently appeared on Good Morning America, where she spoke about her life without Thicke.

"I'm doing really well," the 39-year-old actress said. "I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging, but it's been a year of growth. Lots of healing, learning about all new things. But I've come out of it stronger and my son's happy. I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there."

With her split from the singer being so public, she explained what she does to get through the hardships.

"The truth is - it's hard for me to say this because I don't always do this - but it's being grateful for what you have," she said. "It's so easy for all of us to focus on the negative things but usually the positive in your life outweighs that, and you have to just be thankful for what you have right now. That's what I try work on. My son also helps me with that. The thing is you can't wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they're so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy."

Their split was reportedly triggered by rumors of the singer's infidelity and photos with other women. Thicke's latest album, released in July 2014, titled Paula, was dedicated to Patton when their romantic troubles came to head. However, he did not succeed in winning her back.

Meanwhile, Thicke is currently dealing with the ramifications of the recent "Blurred Lines" lawsuit. The jury decided against Thicke and Pharrell, granting Marvin Gaye's family $7.4 million for infringement on "Got To Give It Up." Thicke and Pharrell are reportedly planning to appeal the verdict while Gaye's family is now looking to sue T.I. and the labels that distributed the song.
