Britney Spears has been having a successful run in Las Vegas, Mariah Carey has a promising looking residency coming up, and now Celine Dion—a hall-of-famer on the Nevada scene—will be returning to Caesars Palace during 2015. The vocalist announced that she would be returning after taking time off from the road to care for her husband, Rene Angelil.

"While my family will always be my priority, my fans are just as important to me. I look forward to performing again for all of you starting August 27th, and more importantly having Rene there with me," she said in a statement. "It was Rene's wish that I come back."

Dion's husband has been struggling with throat cancer for some time, prompting the vocalist to take a break from Las Vegas as well as cancel a tour in Asia last year. Family friend Josh Groban said that her voice "gives him life," and he apparently wants to share that with the world.

She'll be taking to the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace, the same venue where she performed before going on hiatus. The Caesars Entertainment Corp. reports that she'll begin her run during August and play at least 40 shows until January. Although those are the only gigs confirmed for the time being, Dion has extended her residency with Caesar's through 2019. She's understandably approaching dates a small number at a time to allow flexibility if her husband requires attention.

Caesars must be happy to have her back, considering her history at its venues. Her "A New Day..." concert run drew in more than 3 million visitors and $400 million in revenue, making it one of the most successful live series in history, much less Las Vegas residencies. Carey's got to feel somewhat intimidated by the legend returning to town while she warms up.
