Ed Sheeran made a video announcement on TV that revealed he will co-host Canada's 2015 Much Music Video Awards, which airs June 21. His co-host has not yet been named.

The British singer-songwriter made the announcement alongside a furry friend named "Justin Beaver." According to Billboard, his announcement was delivered with perfect timing -- during last night's March 30 Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber. This upcoming co-host gig will be Sheeran's fourth consecutive appearance at the MMVAs, according to Billboard.

"I'm thrilled they asked me to host this year. I hope this isn't an early April Fool's joke," Sheeran said.

The MMVAs is hosted by Much, the "No. 1 Canadian brand for young adults."

The site is focused on providing "Live performances and interviews with the best Canadian and international artists, and celebrity guests put fans in the centre of the action, making Much's acclaimed street-level Toronto headquarters Canada's epicentre of celebrity."

Currently, news is circulating around Sheeran's recent breakup with now-ex-girlfriend Athina Andrelos, but the Grammy Award-winning "Thinking Out Loud" singer has declared in the past that he is not focused on tabloids but instead on his music.

In an interview with the Telegraph last year, Sheeran explained that he doesn't judge his career by tabloids or gossip.

"It's always wrong to view your career as what the tabloids put it at. The real people that buy my record are Jenny in Stoke or Jasmine in Glasgow," Sheeran told the Telegraph. "Real, and all over the country. So I never really take much notice of the capital city/tabloid opinion. 'Cause it doesn't really affect [things] out in the sticks, which is where most people buy the records."

In his announcement video, he waves for the camera to get closer while holding his furry friend. He whispers, "Shh! My name's Ed and this is Justin Beaver and I'm hosting the MMVAs on the 21st of June. Save your screams."
