The inmates at Litchfield aren't done telling their frenzied stories just yet--the endless chaos and misfortunes that surround Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) and the rest of the tan and orange-suited ladies, come back tenfold in the Orange is the New Black season three trailer.
Season 2 of the outrageously treasured Netflix series left fans with multiple cliffhangers--the relationship between Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) and Piper, the fate of Rosa after a memorable hit-and-run on conniving inmate, Vee, and several other loose ends.
Soaring through dense themes from wildly comedic to profoundly emotional, season 3 seems takes fan favorite characters to different heights. The trailer verifies that Piper's plan to lure Alex back to Litchfield, the place where dreams go to die, worked in her favor. Crazy Eyes has found a more creative outlet, penning stories about sex and aliens while Red has traded her hostile season 2 attitude for a more calm and uplifting demeanor.
"Stop trying to mold the real world into the one inside your pointy blonde head, the world is better in black and white. And Red," she explains to Piper.
Known for its use of flashbacks to help viewers gain insight to the inmate's lives prior to prison, fans will get to travel back in time with fierce and hilariously outspoken Nicky Nichols.
There's fresh meat on the prowl in Litchfield, this time with Lori Petti as Lolly, as E! News notes, who seems to relish in her current accommodations. "This place is amazing! The walls are so clean."
Laura Prepon's brunette and mysterious character, Alex, was mostly absent from season 2 but the trailer indicated heavier participation from the former That 70s Show actress. She was the first one to announce the OITNB season 3 renewal an entire month before season 2 was available on Netflix, reports Rolling Stone.
There's just a little over two months left until the season 3 drops on Netflix on June 12th--let the binge-watching and refreshing commence.
