Miranda Lambert has some new music coming out later this month, and it's going to harken back to her "Something Bad" days. Today (April 17), Mrs. Blake Shelton revealed that she was asked to release a new song for the Reese Witherspoon film Hot Pursuit and now "Two of a Crime" will be coming in just a few days.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his morning show (via Rolling Stone Country), Lambert said that Witherspoon personally asked her to write a new song for her upcoming Sofia Vergara co-starring film and that she agreed to something to "up her alley." She wrote "Two of a Crime" with frequent collaborators Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon.

"Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired," she said. "It was a bit of a Thelma and Louise theme and that's totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it."

Little other information about the song is available.

The new single will mark the first time that Lambert has written a song exclusively for a movie, though her music has appeared in films including The Hunger Games and Christina Aguilera's Burlesque.

"Two of a Crime" will be released on Tuesday, April 28, roughly a week and a half before Hot Pursuit is due to hit theatres on May 8. According to iMDB, the movie stars Witherspoon as "an inept police officer must protect the widow of a drug dealer from criminals and dirty policemen."
