The Academy of Country Music Awards took over the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium last night (April 19), but newly branded pop star Taylor Swift wasn't the only outside genre presence onstage. Nick Jonas returned to his home state of Texas to partner up with Dan + Shay for a country fried take on his smash singles "Jealous" and "Chains."
Kicking off with Dan + Shay singing the pre-chorus to Jonas' top 10 single "Jealous," the sizzing R&B track got new life with banjos and rich harmonies. Jonas soon reentered the music, proving that his falsetto shines in any genre.
The mashup quickly turned to Jonas' revitalized solo album single "Chains." With a kicked up tempo and handclaps, Jonas and Dan + Shay harmonized with Jonas on the chorus, pouring in just a little bit of their own single "Nothin Like You."
It was an interesting blend, but hey, everything's bigger and crazier in Texas. Watch below:
