Tim Linhart of Luleå, Sweden creates violins, celli, guitars and marimbas out of ice each year for his Ice Music concerts. Classicalite recently wrote about these incredible concerts, held just outside of Luleå, a town of 80,000 in Swedish Lapland.

The instruments that Linhart sculpts out of ice are fully playable musical instruments. He uses LED lights, which emit no heat, to illuminate the instruments, lending an otherworldly glow to the Ice Music concerts.

The group plays dozens of Ice Music concerts each winter inside a concert hall made entirely of ice. Audience members are advised to bundle up, because the concert hall is kept at a constant temperature of -5 degrees Celsius. (That's 23 degrees Fahrenheit.)
