Justin Bieber has slowing been distancing himself from his days of mischief and douchebaggery. He started off 2015 by appearing on Ellen to apologize to fans for his actions, insisting that he was "not who I was pretending to be." He then signed himself up to be roasted on Comedy Central, where he apologized once more for not handling his fame the way he should've. Since then, he's told multiple news outlets that he is changing for the better and associating with better people. Now he's getting the world focused on his skills as a musician. Last night, he stopped by James Corden's Late Late Show unannounced to sit in on drums with Reggie Watts' house band.

His appearance was very subtle -- possibly signifying that the pop star doesn't care about being the center of attention all the time. Sporting his new haircut and a gray hoodie, he dig a bang up job keeping the beat while Watts got all freaky on the mic.

Bieber's manager Scoot Braun tweeted a message of support to the Biebs following the performance.

"I love @JKCorden new drummer on the @latelateshow @justinbieber lol," he wrote, linking to a video of the performance.

This is the first time we've seen the "Where Are U Now" singer on the drums since his Calvin Klein ad earlier this year.

Lady Gaga recently stood up for the *former* troublemaker after the Met Gala earlier this month.

"He really has a sweetness to him. He grew up in front of the whole world. I reminded him to not get bothered," she caption a photo of the two of them. "Because at the end of the day. He's the boss, and life isn't always Roses. Lots of thorns."
