Mariah Carey is only one week into her new Las Vegas residency at Caesar's Palace, but the "Infinity" singer is already having to cancel shows. Last night (May 13), the diva announced that she's come down with bronchitis and was forced to scrap her concert at the last minute.

TMZ reports that signs were posted outside Carey's theatre stating that the Wednesday night show had been cancelled with no signs of rescheduling.

At the time of the scheduled show, no reason had been given for the quick cancellation, though rumors surfaced that Carey had come down with bronchitis and was advised not to use her voice. Later, the pop star confirmed the medical diagnosis on her Instagram with a letter to her fans.

"Hey guys... I've been fighting bronchitis for the past few days... almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor's orders. I'm so sorry to cancel tonight's show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC," she wrote.

Despite her promise, however, the show is unlikely to get rescheduled.

Carey's next scheduled shows at Caesar's Palace are set for Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, though it's unclear whether or not she will actually be able to perform on those dates.

Carey debuted her Vegas show Mariah: #1 to Infinity on May 6. The show has received mixed reviews from critics, with The New York Times slamming the show and People calling it a fan-pleaser.
