As if Bill Cosby didn't already have enough grenades to dodge, yet another lawsuit was filed against him this week by one of his accusers, Janice Dickinson. If you remember, the former supermodel came forward a few months back, claiming that the famed comedian both drugged and then raped her. Of course, Cosby has denied that it ever happened and in doing so, basically has alluded to the notion that Dickinson is lying. That could be interpreted as defamation of character and she's not going to take it lightly.
According to an exclusive report by Entertainment Tonight, "What sparked this lawsuit is Bill Cosby through his representatives calling Janice Dickinson a liar, and Janice is refusing to be re-victimized." She alleges she was drugged and raped by Bill Cosby, and then re-victimized again when he called her a liar. In the proposed lawsuit, which attorney Lisa Bloom said will be filed Wednesday in California Superior Court, Dickinson and her lawyer accuse Cosby and his legal team of making a "false statement" and that the comments made "were written and published with the goal of making Ms. Dickinson an object of ridicule, contempt, hatred or disgrace, and to bring her public and personal humiliation."
While Dickinson's past is also riddled with some major mistakes and blatant drug use, she is now clean, sober and feeling as though she needs to hold Cosby accountable for his alleged actions. She joins about 40 other women that have come forward with an eerily similar story to tell. Representatives for Cosby have dismissed all of the allegations as basically a grand scale smear campaign to try and destroy the comedian's legacy. So far it most certainly has worked because Cosby has watched deals with NBC and Netflix crumble, as protestors seem to heckle him at every live show he performs at.
